Shipping/Process

📦 How Our Shipping Process Works


TradeWinds makes it easy to get your goods from Miami to Grand Cayman — affordably, reliably, and with full transparency every step of the way.


📍 Step 1: Ship or Drop-Off to Our Miami Warehouse

Send your packages to our Miami facility (Address is provided when you open/login to your account).


  • Label all shipments with your name and TradeWinds account number.
  • Shop online, drop off, or use our personal shopper or drop-off assistance services.


📦 Step 2: We Receive, Log & Prepare Your Shipment

    Packages are logged and consolidated (free of charge).


  • Updates are sent through our system, and you will receive email notifications at each step:
    • 📸 Item photos uploaded
    • ⚠️ Short shipment or damaged item alerts
    • 📦 Consolidation and release notice (nothing can be added afterward)
    • 🚚 Shipment delivered to carrier
    • 🛃 Shipment in Customs
    • 📬 Shipment ready for pickup or delivery
  • All messages regarding packages should be sent through the customer system.


🚚 Step 3: Shipping via Air or Ocean Freight



🇰🇾 Step 4: Cayman Customs Clearance


  • We handle all Customs submissions and coordinate directly with officials.
  • Most clearances happen in 1–3 business days after arrival, depending on shipping method. In rare cases, clearance may take up to 1 week.



    🏠 Step 5: Pickup or Home/Office Delivery

      Options: Free pickup or optional home/office delivery.

    • You’ll be notified via email when your packages are ready.
    • We accept cash, card, or online payment. Payment must be made in advance for delivery.
    • Free deliverythe day of customs clearance notification and the next business day or the next time a shipment is ready for distribution. A fee applies outside of those times.

    TradeWinds ships directly from South Florida to Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.

    • Orders must be paid in full before shipment.
    • Customs duties are not included in the shipping total.
    • Customers are responsible for clearing items on arrival.
    • The clearance process is typically quick and straightforward.
    • We’ve successfully shipped to Little Cayman and are happy to continue offering this service.



    • 🌴 Shipping to the Sister Islands (Cayman Brac & Little Cayman)

     

    TradeWinds ships directly from South Florida to Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.
